We are looking for a responsible and vivacious teacher's aide to join the team at our Christian, privateschool. As a teacher's aide, you will work with students and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. Our ideal candidate is industrious, cooperative and knowledgeable about educational best practices and child development.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

The summary of duties represents the major tasks and duties. This is not intended to be an exhaustive listof all responsibilities. Therefore, the individual may perform other related tasks under the direction of the Elementary Principal.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, and bulletin boards
  • Operate equipment including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators
  • Ensure that students have all materials necessary for class activities
  • Work with students individually or in small groups for extension or remediation
  • Provide extra help as needed to students with physical, mental, or linguistic limitations
  • Take daily class attendance and maintain accurate attendance records
  • Support students with assistive devices and supportive technologies
  • Coordinate with classroom teachers to determine daily tasks
  • Adhere to accommodations in students' IEPs and 504 plans
  • Lead activities designed to foster students' mental, physical, and social development
  • Supervise students in various settings including classrooms, playgrounds, and field trips
  • Enforce school rules and policies
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences as requested by teachers
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions

Teacher's Aide Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in education or related field preferred
  • Certification in child first aid and CPR
  • At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
  • Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills; able to work well with a team
  • Effective multitasker; can prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines
  • Must pass background check and drug test before starting employment
  • Participate in the Rock Academy's weekly devotional and staff meetings
  • Ability to effectively communicate sensitive information to families, teachers and administration
  • Willingness to demonstrate flexibility in supporting students in grades K-6th in task completion, as well as academic and behavioral support

  • Christ-centered behavior at all i.e. treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
  • For all grievances, follow Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15.
  • Successful completion of a background check, LiveScan, and
  • Pleasant and professional personality and appearance
  • Regular attendee of a Bible believing Christian church, to be reviewed by administration
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings (and events, as needed).
  • Signed acknowledgement of the Rock Church Statement of
  • Adheres to policies and procedures as stated in the Rock Academy employee handbook¬†

Physical Requirements

Ability to function independently and ability to speak. This position also may require long periods ofstanding up and walking.
